Even if Rob Gronkowski missed National Tight End’s Day, his return is on the horizon for the already stacked Tampa Bay offense. After suffering a Grade 3 chest injury in Week 3 against the Rams, Gronk has had to watch from the sidelines as Tom & Friends won 4 straight; but his time off the field is coming to an end, sooner rather than later. While his injury is, or at least was, serious (he currently has a High IRC at 29%), Bruce Arians said in his Week 7 postgame presser that he hoped to have Gronk back in Week 8. Our algorithm has been a bit more cautious, predicting an ORT of 7 weeks, making him healthy to return in Week 10 against Washington. Gronk suffered multiple rib fractures and a punctured lung, and these injuries won’t fully heal within a month. He can play through the pain with a flak jacket and an injection before the game.
