The Titans may have lost their star for the season. Henry briefly left Sunday’s game to have his left foot evaluated, but he was cleared to return and finished the day with 28 carries. Now there are reports that Henry suffered a Jones fracture. This is a break to the fifth metatarsal in the midfoot. It’s a fairly common injury in the NFL, especially for wide receivers and running backs. A majority of players undergo surgery to have screws inserted to stabilize the fracture. Henry is facing a minimum 8 week Optimal Recovery Time. That means he won’t return during the regular season, but a playoff return is possible. The trouble with Jones fractures is that there is a high rate of recurrence. The screws can also cause irritation and need to be removed eventually.
