Davis’ Knee Injury Described as a Stinger, Will Be Evaluated

After Lebron was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Grizzlies, Lakers fans watched in horror as Anthony Davis fell to the floor wincing and grabbing at his knee in Tuesday’s game against the Spurs. Luckily, fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief as Davis managed to get up and close out the game, helping the Lakers get the win. After the game, Davis described the injury as a “stinger” to reporters, implying the injury shouldn’t be too severe. This description doesn’t exactly make sense for a knee injury, but it does lead me to believe that it isn’t too serious. He is scheduled to have tests done today, October 27th, which should allow us to have a clearer idea on what exactly happened. In the meantime, it is safe to assume the injury is likely soft tissue, and should be healed within the week.
