Are The Pacers Treading Water Without Caris LeVert?

LeVert was on fire last season, averaging over 20 points between the Nets and Pacers, and was looking to bring that same production in his first full year with Indiana. Unfortunately, his 2021-22 debut was delayed in September when he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his back. While back injuries are notoriously difficult to manage, LeVert practiced for the first time this season yesterday, giving Pacers fans a glimmer of hope that his regular season debut may be coming sooner rather than later. However, it is worth noting our algorithm has projected his Healthy to Return Date to still be 6 weeks away. He currently comes with a very High Injury Risk (47%) and a Poor Health Performance Factor (29%). While it could prove to be a bad decision rushing LeVert’s return, he is still slowly ramping up his basketball activities, and Indiana fans’ excitement should follow.
