After His Hard Fall on Sunday, Lebron Could Miss More Time

It’s early in the season, but the Lakers are still looking to gain some cohesiveness after assembling their new “Big 3.” Starting the season 2-2, Los Angeles currently sits 7th in the Western Conference, and with Lebron possibly missing more time, they could slide even further down. After scoring a layup against the Grizzlies on Sunday, James and Memphis shooting guard Desmond Bane fell against one another awkwardly, resulting in James leaving the game with an ankle injury. We’ve calculated James’ Injury Risk to be Elevated, hovering at around 22%. Combining that with his Below Average Health Performance Factor at 60%, and we’ve concluded James’ Optimal Recovery Time to be 1 week. With that being said, Lakers coach Frank Vogel has gone on record saying they will be taking a “marathon approach” to James’ injury, likely in the name of load management as the Lakers look to redeem their playoff loss last season.
